Abstract

AMAÇ: Bu araştırma, tip 2 diyabetes mellituslu bireylerde sağlık algısı ve aile desteğinin tedaviye uyum düzeyleri ile ilişkisini belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yürütülmüştür.
GEREÇ ve YÖNTEM: Araştırmanın yürütüldüğü devlet hastanesine başvuran tip 2 diyabetes mellitus tanılı 210 birey araştırmanın örneklemini oluşturmuştur. Araştırma verileri, kişisel bilgi formu, Morisky Tedavi Uyum Ölçeği, Sağlık Algısı Ölçeği ve Tip 2 Diyabette Aile Desteği ve Çatışma Ölçeği kullanılarak toplanmıştır.
BULGULAR: Tip 2 diyabetes mellituslu bireylerin, %45,2’sinin düşük uyum düzeyine sahip olduğu saptanmıştır. Sağlık algısı ölçeği toplam puanları, sağlığın önemi ve aile desteği alt boyutu puan ortalamalarının tedaviye uyum düzeylerine göre anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği saptanmıştır (p<0,05). Diyete uyum gösterme, düzenli kontrole gitme ve akut komplikasyon gelişme durumuna göre tedaviye uyum düzeylerinin anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği saptanmıştır (p<0,05).
SONUÇ: Diyabetli bireylerde aile desteğinin önemine yönelik farkındalığın artırılması ve sağlık algısına yönelik daha fazla çalışma yapılması önerilmektedir.

Abstract

AIM: This research was carried out as a descriptive study to determine the relationship between health perception and family support and adherence to treatment in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
MATERIAL and METHODS: The sample of the study consisted of 210 individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes mellitus, who applied to the state hospital where the study was conducted. Research data were collected using a personal information form, Morisky Treatment Adherence Scale, Health Perception Scale, and Family Support and Conflict Scale in Type 2 Diabetes.
RESULTS: It was determined that 45.2% of individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus had low compliance level. It was determined that the total scores of the health perception scale, the importance of health sub-dimension, and the mean family support scores differed significantly according to the level of adherence to treatment (p<0.05). It was determined that the levels of adherence to the treatment differed significantly according to the status of adherence to the diet, going to regular controls, and development of acute complications (p<0.05).
CONCLUSIONS: It is recommended to increase awareness of the importance of family support in individuals with diabetes and to conduct more studies on health perception.
