Abstract

ABSTRACT

Cerebral  venous  sinus  thrombosis  (CVST)  is  an  uncommon  form  of  strokes.  The most common radiological findings are thrombus in the dural sinus or cortical veins, paranchimal hemorrhagic infarctions, focal edema with or without hemorrhage. However, in a review of the literature, only a few cases of CVST were associated with subdural effusion. We report superior sagital sinus and cortical veins thrombosis with bilateral subdural effusion in a 17 year-old girl with leukemia.

Keywords: Intracranial Sinus Thrombosis; Subdural effusion; Magnetic resonance imaging
