Abstract

Objectives: The main goal of
dentistry is to provide patients with a treatment that meets aesthetic and
functional expectations, and for this purpose dental implant treatment is
increasingly used in dental practice. The aim of this study is to evaluate the
demographic and clinical features of patients undergoing dental implant surgery
and the characteristics of dental implants and interpret them in the light of
descriptive statistical methods.

Materials
and methods: A total of 117 patients who applied to our clinic for dental
implant treatment were included in the study. The data obtained were evaluated
demographically and clinically.
Results:
160 (50.8%) of the dental implants were applied to women and 155 (49.2%) of
them were applied to male patients. 177 (56.2%) of the dental implants were
applied to the maxilla and 138 (43.8%) to the mandible. 80.0% of the dental
implants were used for partial edentulism, 15.2% for full edentulism and 4.8%
for single missing tooth.

Conclusion: As a result of the data obtained from our
study; dental implants are seen more frequently in women and in cases of
partial edentulism.

Abstract

Hedefler: Diş
hekimliğinin en temel hedefi hastalara estetik ve fonksiyonel beklentileri
karşılayacak bir tedavi sunmaktır, bu amaçla dental implant tedavisi gün
geçtikçe artan bir oranda dental pratikte kullanılmaktadır. Çalışmamızın amacı;
dental implant cerrahisi uygulanmış hastaların demografik ve klinik durumlarını
ve dental implantların özelliklerini değerlendirmek ve tanımlayıcı istatistiksel
yöntemler ışığında yorumlamaktır.

Malzemeler
dental implantların 160’ı (%50.8) kadın, 155’i (%49.2) erkek hastalara uygulanmıştır.
Dental implantların 177’si (%56.2) maksillaya, 138’i (%43.8) mandibulaya uygulanmıştır.  Dental implantların %80.0’i kısmi dişsizliği,
%15.2’si tam dişsizliği ve %4.8’i tek diş eksikliğini gidermede kullanılmıştır.

Sonuç: Çalışmamızdan elde edilen veriler
sonucu; dental implantların kadınlarda ve kısmi dişsizlik vakalarında daha sık
uygulandığı görülmektedir.
