Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: Demographic Evaluation of 126 Cases

Year 2014, Volume: 11 Issue: 3, 242 - 246, 15.12.2014

Abstract

Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is the most common entrapment neuropathy. Carpal tunnel syndrome is a
compression neuropathy which occurs due to compression of median nerve at the wrist level. CTS is most
commonly seen in women over 30 years of age, frequently bilaterally, with nocturnal pain, paresthesia and/or
sensory deficit in the median nerve innervated region of the hand. CTS is a clinical diagnosis based on the
patient's history and physical examination; electrodiagnostic tests including nerve conduction studies and
needle electromyography are the most commonly used auxillary diagnostic methods.

Karpal Tünel Sendromu: 126 Olgunun Demoğrafik Açıdan Değerlendirilmesi

Year 2014, Volume: 11 Issue: 3, 242 - 246, 15.12.2014
