Abstract

Background: Anatomical parameters of the wrist bones obtained with radiographic images are important for diagnosis and treatment because the ankle pathologies are associated with certain anatomical patterns. The purpose of the present study was to surgically examine morphometric measurements obtained with wrist radiographies of adult individuals.
Material and Method: The study had a retrospective design and was performed on 100 radiological images (50 right, 50 left) of healthy adult individuals aged 18-65 (25 men, 25 women) applying to the Department of Radiology in the Department of Medicine at the University of Cukurova from 2012 to 2022. The IBM SPSS 21.0 program was used for statistical analyzes, and statistical significance was assumed to be p<0.05.
Results: The radiographic measurements were classified according to right and left hand, and when bilateral (right and left) differences were detected, the RA and SFA measurements differed statistically between right and left hand (p<0.05), and other measurements yielded no statistically significant differences between right and left hand (p>0.05). Furthermore, the correlation between the angle and length measurements obtained with the radiological images of the wrist was studied. It was found that the statistically significant correlation coefficients between the measurements ranged from -0.344 to 0.945. In particular, there was a very strong and positive relationship between UYA and SCA (r= 0.855, p < 0.001) and RA and SFA (r=0.945, p<0.001) measurements.
Conclusions: In line with our results, we think that the use of contralateral wrist radiographs as a template in reconstructive surgery of the wrist will be a reference since there is sufficient symmetry in bilateral measurements.

Erişkin El Bilek Radyografilerinden Elde Edilen Morfometrik Ölçümlerin Cerrahi Açıdan Önemi
