Abstract
The reason for the development of nursing models is to distinguish nursing from medicine. When nursing models are used, relationships between metaparadigms are established. Relationships between individuals, the environment, health and nursing based on nursing models allow associating theoretical knowledge with data about patients and planning appropriate interventions systematically. Using models shapes how nurses think to achieve desirable outcomes of nursing care. This requires working with patients rather than working for patients and facilitates holistic approach towards individuals. Despite the necessity to use nursing models, they are not used as frequently as expected. It is noted that it was necessary to use clinical examples to explain nursing models, which would increase the use of the models. Abstract
Hemşirelik modellerinin varolma nedeni hemşireliğin tıptan farklı özelliklerini ortaya koymaktır. Hemşirelik modeli kullanıldığında metaparadigmalar arasında ilişki kurulmaktadır. Birey, çevre, sağlık ve hemşirelik arasında kurulan ilişkiyi modele dayandırmak, teorik bilgilerin hasta verileri ile bütünleştirilmesini ve sistematik bir biçimde girişimlerin planlamasını sağlamaktadır. Model kullanımı, istenen hasta sonuçlarına ulaşmak için hemşirenin düşünme biçimini şekillendirmektedir. Bu, hasta için çalışmayı değil hasta ile birlikte çalışmayı getirmekte ve bireye bütüncül yaklaşımı kolaylaştırmaktadır. Model kullanımının gerekliliklerine rağmen istenilen düzeyde olmadığı görülmektedir. Klinik alanda model kullanımın arttırılması için modellerin klinik örneklerle açıklanmasına gereksinim olduğu belirtilmektedir. Bu makalede, Neuman’ın Sistemler Modeli pnömonili bir bebeğin bakımında kullanılarak örneklendirilmiştir
