Stereotactic Biopsy For a Brainstem Tumor Through a Contralateral Transfrontal Extraventricular Approach
Abstract
Stereotactic biopsy is safely used for brainstem lesions. A mass lesion in the left brachium pontis was found in a 24-years-old female patient. Because of the localization of the lesion, stereotactic biopsy was done through contralateral transfrontal extraventricular route. Result of the histopathological examination was glioblastome multiforme. No complication was observed due to the procedure.Contralateral transfrontal route can be safely used in patients with laterally placed brainstem lesions

Abstract
Beyinsapı lezyonlarında stereotaktik biyopsi güvenle kullanılmaktadır. Yirmidört yaşındaki bir kadın hastada brakium pontis yerleşimli bir lezyon saptanmıştır. Yerleşimi nedeni ile kontrlateral transfrontal ekstraventriküler yaklaşım ile stereotaktik biopsi alınmıştır. Histopatoloji sonucu glioblastome multiformedir. İşleme bağlı herhangi bir komplikasyon gelişmemiştir.Lateral yerleşimli beyinsapı lezyonlarında tentorium açıklığının yetmediği durumlarda, kontrlateral transfrontal yol güvenle kullanılabilir
