Familial Mediterranean Fever Which Was Induced Menstruat Ion At Post-Partum Period

Year 2017, Issue: 1, 58 - 60, 01.03.2017

Abstract

Familial Mediterranean fever FMF is a hereditary disease characterised by recurrent attacks of fever with peritonitis, pleuritis, arthritis or erysipelas-like rash. As its name suggests, FMF is seen primarily among individuals of Mediterranean ancestry, particularly Turks, Armenians, non-Ashkenazi Jews and Arabs. Familial Mediterranean fever is inherited as an autosomal recessive disorder. 32 year old female patient was admitted with severe abdominal pain occurring periodically with the onset of first menstruation after pregnancy. Abdominal pain was not accompanied by additional symptoms such as fever, rash or arthritis. The patient who is investigated due to positive family history was diagnosed with FMF. Episodes were controlled by cyclic colchicine treatment which was given at the perimenstrual period

Post-Partum Dönemde Menstrüasyon ile Tetiklenen Ailevi Akdeniz Ateşi Olgusu

Year 2017, Issue: 1, 58 - 60, 01.03.2017
