Abstract
Giriş: Otoetnografi, farklı yaşam deneyimleri olan biri tarafından yazılmış, otobiyografik nitel araştırmadır. Ellis ve Boucher otoetnografiyi, yazarın kişisel deneyimlerini ve kavramların bu deneyimler üzerindeki sosyal ve kültürel etkilerini ilişkilendirdiği bir yöntem olarak tanımlamaktadır.
Amaç: Yazarın gebelik öncesi infertilite tanısı ile başlayan ve doğum sonrası ilk altı ay yaşadığı karmaşık ve hüzünlü duygularını anlatmak, postpartum duygudurum değişiklikleri yaşayan kadınlara dikkat çekmektir.
Method: Yazarın, gebelik öncesi infertilite tanısıyla başlayan ve doğum sonrası altı ay boyunca yaşadığı karmaşık ve hüzünlü duygularını anlattığı otoetnogrfik bir çalışmadır.
Olgu: Ben akademisyen bir hemşireyim. Bu gerçek hikayemde, doğum sonunda yaşadığım karmaşık duygularımı, derinden hissettiğim hüzün ve ölüm düşüncelerimi dile getirdim. Gebelik, infertilite tanısı almış bir kadın için dünyanın en mucizevi olayıdır. Ancak doğum sonu duygu durum değişiklikleri, bu muhteşem ritüele gölge düşürmektedir.
Tartışma: Otoetnografik makaleleri incelediğimde, benimle benzer duyguları yaşamış bir çok kadın olduğunu gördüm. Makalelerdeki temalardan bazıları; “normal fakat acı çeken biri olarak görülme, isimsiz bir kaos yaşama, bir çıkış yolu bulma mücadelesi içinde olma, günlük hayattan uzaklaşmış hissetme” ifadeleridir.
Sonuç ve Öneriler: Doğum sonrası kadınların en fazla desteğe ihtiyaç duyduğu dönemdir. Doğumdan sonra hem fizyolojik hem psikolojik değişikliklerin olduğunu bilmeme rağmen, her şeyi unutmuştum. Bu süreç, sağlık profesyonelleri tarafından tüm gebeler ve postpartum anneler için dikkate alınması, psikososyal sağlığın yakından izlenmesi açısından önemlidir.
