A Brief Overview of Endogenous Endophthalmitis and Its Factors Caused By Salmonella Arthritis Developing Endophthalmitis
Abstract
Endogenous endophthalmitis (EE) is a condition that requires close and close follow-up, especially in immunosuppressive patients, and requires acute intervention.
In cases of sepsis and transient bacteremia, S. aureus, streptococci, and gram-negative rods may cause EE. Salmonella infections from gram-negative
rods have increased in recent years. In this case, we planned to present a case of Endogenous Endophthalmitis (EE) due to Salmonella spp, which we
rarely see in the literature, following Salmonella septic arthritis in a 23-year-old male patient receiving immunosuppressive therapy.

Abstract
Endojen Endoftalmi (EE), yakın ve sıkı takip gerektiren özellikle immunsupresif hastalarda akılda tutulması gereken ve akut müdahale gerektiren bir
durumdur. Sepsis ve geçici bakteriyemi durumlarında S. aureus, streptokoklar ve gram negatif çomaklar endojen endoftalmi nedeni olabilir. Gram negatif
çomaklardan Salmonella spp enfeksiyonlarında son yıllarda artış görülmektedir. Bu yazıda 23 yaşında immunsupresif tedavi alan erkek hastada Salmonella
spp. septik artritini takiben, literatürde nadiren rastladığımız Salmonella spp. bağlı EE olgusu sunulmuştur.
