Abstract

Siyatalji siyatik, sinir dağılımı icerisinde kalca ve bacağın posterior yüzünün aşağısına

doğru yayılan bir ağrıdır. Siyatalji genellikle lomber sinir koÅNklerinden L4,5,S1,2,3

basısına bağlı yada siyatik sinirin kendisinin bası altında kalmasına bağlı oluşur. Sıklıkla

40-50 yaşlar arasında ve erkekleri kadınlarda daha sık etkiler. İnflamatuar, immünolojik

ve basıncla ilgili süreclerin karmaşık etkileşiminin siyatalji gelişiminde etkili olabileceği

üzerine kanıtlar mevcuttur. Siyataljinin tek nedeninin herniye nükleus pulposus

olmadığı mutlaka akla getirilmelidir. Neyse ki siyatalji vakalarının büyük kısmı kendini

sınırlar ve birkac ay icerisinde düzelme eğilimi goÅNsterir. Bazı durumlarda kronikleşir

ve tedavisi zor olabilir.
