Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin pandemi sürecinde Covid-19 korkusu, ölüm kaygısı ve psikolojik sağlamlık durumları arasındaki ilişki

Year 2023, Volume: 16 Issue: 2, 259 - 269, 17.08.2023

Abstract

Year 2023, Volume: 16 Issue: 2, 259 - 269, 17.08.2023

Abstract

Aim: This study was conducted in order to determine the relationship between the fear of COVID-19, death anxiety and psychological resilience of nursing school students during the COVID-19 pandemic process. Methods: The data of the cross-sectional study, which was conducted with 322 nursing students, were collected on the online platform via the mobile internet using the Personal Information Form, The Fear of Covid-19 Scale, the Death Anxiety Scale and the Brief Psychological Resilience Scale. Results: A moderate positive correlation was detected between the total scores of the Death Anxiety Scale and The Fear of Covid-19 Scale, and a weak negative correlation was detected between the total scores of the Psychological Resilience Scale and The Fear of Covid-19 Scale (p<0.001). Accordingly, death anxiety affected the fear of Covid-19 by 38.8%. Resilience affected the participants’ fear of Covid-19 by 10.1%. Conclusion: In conclusion, strengthening the resilience of individuals through counseling, therapies, group counseling, and psycho-social intervention could be recommended.
