Abstract

King's Goal Achievement Theory emphasizes the collaborative role of patients in decision-making and the importance of empowering them in nursing care. In this article, a female patient with right arm weakness and speech disorder have been analyzed according to the Theory. Mitral valve insufficiency was found in the examinations. Mitral valve replacement was urgently performed for the patient. While the patient's perception included the fear of death due to the deterioration of the heart valve and the thought that he could not recover, the perception of the nurse; Focused on postoperative recovery and patient anxiety. Goals of the nurse; adequate oxygenation for organ perfusion, adequate analgesia, normothermia, ensuring fluid balance. The realization of common goals in practice starts with nurse-patient interaction. In the evaluation, the planned targets have been achieved. As a result; with the theory, the nurse-patient collaboration was ensured, contributing to the patient's autonomy and recovery process.

King’in Amaca Ulaşma Kuramına Göre Açık Kalp Cerrahisinde Hemşirelik Bakımı

Year 2022, Volume: 7 Issue: 4, 626 - 630, 10.12.2022

Abstract

King’in Amaca Ulaşma Kuramı, hemşirelik bakımında hastaların karar vermedeki işbirlikçi rolünü ve onları güçlendirmenin önemini vurgular.
