HEMŞİRELERİN İŞYERİNDE ŞİDDETE MARUZ KALMA DURUMLARININ VE İLİŞKİLİ FAKTÖRLERİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract












Bu
çalışma, hastanelerde çalışan hemşirelerin şiddete maruz kalma durumlarını,
şiddet olayları ile ilişkili faktörleri incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Tanımlayıcı türde tasarlanan araştırmanın örneklemini bir kamu hastanesinde
çalışan 170 hemşire oluşturmuştur. Araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen 30
soruluk anket uygulanarak elde edilen veriler yüzde, ortalama gibi tanımlayıcı
istatistikler ve ki kare testi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırma kapsamına
alınan hemşirelerin % 60,6’ sının meslek hayatı süresince şiddet türlerinden herhangi
birine maruz kaldığı ve sözel şiddetin en sık görülen şiddet türü olduğu
belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelerin en fazla hasta ve hasta yakınları tarafından
şiddete maruz kaldığı ve şiddet olaylarının çoğunlukla hasta odasında ve 08-16
mesai saatleri içinde meydana geldiği belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelerin %7,8’inin
şiddet olayını rapor ettiği saptanmıştır. Hemşirelerin yaş, cinsiyet, meslekte
ve kurumda çalışma süresi, çalışılan bölüm ve çalışma pozisyonuna göre şiddete
maruz kalma durumları arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark bulunmuştur
(p<0,05). Hemşirelerin çoğunun meslek hayatları boyunca şiddete ve özellikle
sözel şiddete maruz kaldıkları saptanmıştır. Yöneticilerin şiddeti önlemeye
yönelik tedbirler alması gerekmektedir. Özellikle hemşirelerin bu olayları
bildirmeleri için teşvik edilmesi ve hasta ve yakınlarına yönelik kurumsal
politikaların geliştirilmesi önerilmektedir.
