Abstract

Mikroorganizmalar veya toksinlerinin tüm canlılarda ölüme neden olmak, panik oluşturmak, hastalık oluşturmak amacıyla kişi veya gruplarca kullanılmasına biyoterörizm denir. Biyoterörizm saldırıları çok hızlı bir şekilde yayılabilen ve ciddi hastalık oluşturabilen mikroorganizmalarla büyük tehlikeler oluşturma potansiyeline sahiptir. Bu saldırıların önlenmesi için çeşitli uluslararası sözleşmeler yürürlüktedir. Ancak ulusal düzeyde ülkelerin biyolojik ajanların salınımına yanıt verebilecek halk sağlığı sistemine ihtiyaçları vardır. Bu makale biyoterörizmi önlemeye yönelik halk sağlığı yaklaşımlarını ve çözüm önerilerini açıklamak amacıyla yazılmıştır.
