COVID-19 PANDEMİ DÖNEMİNDE MAVİ KODA GİDEN SAĞLIK EKİPLERİNİN KAYGI DÜZEYİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Giriş: Bu çalışma, COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde mavi kod çağrılarına giden sağlık ekiplerinin kaygı düzeylerini araştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır. Çalışma için hastanemiz yerel etik kurulu ve sağlık bakanlığından onay alındı. Online anket şeklinde hazırlanan sorulara verilen çoktan seçmeli yanıtlar değerlendirildi. Kesitsel tipteki bu araştırma örneklemine, COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde sağlık alanında aktif olarak çalışan 18-65 yaş arasında Türkiye’nin çeşitli illerinde görevli 215 sağlık çalışanı katıldı. Sağlık çalışanlarının mavi kod uygulamalarında kaygı düzeyini değerlendirmek amacıyla Beck Anksiyete Ölçeği (BAÖ) kullanıldı.

Bulgular: COVID-19 pandemi döneminde mavi koda giden sağlık ekiplerinde; evli olanlar (p:0,001), evinde COVID-19 enfeksiyonu için riskli olabilecek gruba dahil bireyler ile yaşayanlar (p:0,02), sürekli tedavi gerektiren kronik hastalığı veya engeli olan (p:0,027) ve çalıştığı kurumda yetersiz KKE olanlar (p:0,032),  BAÖ sonucuna göre anksiyete belirtileri isttaistiksel olarak anlamlı yüksek çıktı. Çalışmaya katılanların %5,1’inde pandemi öncesi tanı konulmuş psikiyatrik hastalık varken, bu değer salgın sürecinde %17,2’ye yükselmiştir (p:0,84). Erkek bireyler (p:0,001), devlet hastanesinde çalışanlar (p:0,049), evli olanlar (p:0,019) ve uzman doktorların (p:0,02) COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde tedavi gerektiren psikiyatrik hastalık oranı pandemi dönemi öncesine göre daha yüksek olması istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur.

Sonuç: Sağlık kuruluşları, her türlü salgın hastalık veya pandemi kitlelerin etkilendiği durumlar için her zaman hazırlıklı olmalı ve gerekli ekipmanları eksiksiz sağlamalıdır. Kaliteli ve sürekli bir sağlık hizmeti sunabilmek için, özellikle mavi kod ekibi gibi riskli çalışma gruplarında ve tüm sağlık çalışanlarında kaygıyı azaltmak çok önemlidir. Bunun için kaliteli çalışma koşulları ve iyileştirme programları yaratılmalıdır. En iyi fiziksel, zihinsel ve sosyal koşulları sağlamak tüm sağlık çalışanları için gereklidir.

EVALUATION OF ANXIETY LEVEL OF HEALTHCARE TEAMS GOING TO CODE BLUE DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC PERIOD

Abstract

This study was conducted to investigate the anxiety levels of healthcare teams who went to code blue calls during the COVID-19 pandemic process. Approval for the study was obtained from the local ethics committee of our hospital and the ministry of health. Multiple choice answers given to questions prepared in the form of an online questionnaire were evaluated. This cross-sectional research sample included 215 healthcare professionals working in various provinces of Turkey between the ages of 18-65, who were actively working in the field of health during the COVID-19 pandemic. Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) was used to evaluate the anxiety level of healthcare workers in code blue practices.

Result: In the healthcare teams who went to code blue during the COVID-19 pandemic period; Those who are married (p:0.001), living with individuals who may be at risk for COVID-19 infection at home (p:0.02), have a chronic disease or disability requiring continuous treatment (p:0.027), and have insufficient PPE in the institution they work in (p:0.02) :0.032), anxiety symptoms were statistically significantly higher according to the BAI result. While 5.1% of the participants had a psychiatric disease diagnosed before the pandemic, this value increased to 17.2% during the epidemic period (p:0.84). It was found statistically significant that the rate of psychiatric illness requiring treatment in the COVID-19 pandemic period among male individuals (p:0.001), those working in public hospitals (p:0.049), those who were married (p:0.019), and specialist doctors (p:0.02) was higher than before the pandemic period.

Conclusion: Health institutions should always be prepared for all kinds of epidemics or pandemics and should provide the necessary equipment in full. In order to provide a quality and continuous health service, it is very important to reduce anxiety especially in risky work groups such as the blue code team and in all health workers. For this, quality working conditions and improvement programs should be created. Providing the best physical, mental and social conditions is essential for all healthcare professionals.
