Abstract
Amaç:
Çalışma, Gümüşhane’de yaşayan babaların, gebelik sürecinde yaşadıkları duygular
ve eşlerine destek olma durumlarını belirlemek amacıyla planlanmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntem:
Araştırma tanımlayıcı niteliktedir. Çalışma evrenini Gümüşhane Devlet
Hastanesine başvuru yapan babalar, örneklemi ise 15.02.2017-15.03.2017
tarihleri arasında ulaşılan ve çalışmaya gönüllü olarak katılmayı kabul eden
babalar oluşturmuştur (N:400). Verilerin analizinde frekans ve ki kare testleri
kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular:
Babaların yaş ortalaması 44,11±10,55’dir. Katılımcıların %54.2’si baba olduğunu
duyunca çok heyecanlandığını, %34.5’i ise çok gururlu olduğunu ifade etmiştir.
Katılımcıların %65.5’i gebelik kontrollerine eşle birlikte gittiğini, %76.4’ü
gebelik sürecinde ev işlerinde eşlerine yardım ettiklerini, %41.4’ü anneye
karşı empatik yaklaştığını, %79.8’i annenin yaşadığını fizyolojik
değişikliklerden rahatsız olmadığını ifade etmiştir. Babaların %41.8’i gebelik ve doğum sürecinde babalık rolünü en
çok bebeği ilk defa kucaklarına aldıklarında hissettiklerini belirtmişlerdir.
Babaların
%54.1’inin doğum süreciyle ilgili herhangi bir eğitim almadıkları
belirlenmiştir. Ailelerin gelir durumunun artmasıyla, gebelik
döneminde erkeklerin eşlerine daha fazla empatik yaklaştıkları bulunmuştur.
Yine eğitim durumunun artması ile erkeklerin eşle birlikte kontrollere daha
fazla gittiği, bebek bakımı ve gebelik sürecinde eşlere daha fazla destek
oldukları ayrıca eşle bu sürecin daha fazla paylaşıldığı belirlenmiştir.
Sonuç:
Gebelik ve doğum sırasında babaların sürece
katılımı, çocukların daha iyi zihinsel-sosyal-emosyonel gelişime ve maternal
sağlığın iyileşmesine sebep olmaktadır. Sağlıklı bir toplum ve gelecek için
prenatal sürece babanın da dahil edilmesi gerekmektedir.
