Her gün yeni araştırmalar ve kanıtların geliştirildiği düşünülürse cerrahi alan enfeksiyonları önleme stratejileri konusunda sağlık profesyonellerinin güncel yaklaşımları takip etmeleri önemlidir.  Bu makale cerrahi alan enfeksiyonlarının önlenmesinde profilaktif negatif basınçlı yara tedavisi kullanımı hakkında farkındalık yaratmayı amaçlanmıştır.

Surgical site infections, one of the healthcare-associated infections, affect millions of patients every year. A multidisciplinary team is essential for the prevention of surgical site infections and the provision of appropriate treatment. It is important for health professionals to follow current approaches to surgical site infections prevention strategies if new research and evidence are developed every day. This im of this article was to create awareness about the use of prophylactic negative pressure wound therapy.
