Öz
Kleine-Levin syndrome (KLS) is a rare disease of unknown etiology. Pathophysiological hypotheses include hypothalamic dysfunction and abnormalities in central serotonin and dopamine metabolism. Some clinical features and study findings support a possible autoimmune process. Although there is no definite treatment defined, various mood stabilizing agents have been used in the treatment because of its episodic course and some behavioral characteristics during the episodes. Lithium can be used for this purpose and has been shown to be effective. In this case report, we present a female patient who had been diagnosed with KLS for many years and was diagnosed late, who had benefited from lithium treatment.

Öz
Kleine-Levin sendromu (KLS), etiyolojisi bilinmeyen ve nadir görülen bir hastalıktır. Patofizyolojik hipotezler arasında hipotalamik disfonksiyon ve santral serotonin ve dopamin metabolizmasındaki anormallikler bulunur. Bazı klinik özellikler ve çalışma bulguları, olası bir otoimmün süreci desteklemektedir. Tanımlanmış kesin bir tedavisi bulunmamakla birlikte, epizodik seyri ve epizotlar sırasındaki bazı davranış özellikleri nedeniyle tedavisinde çeşitli duygudurum düzenleyici ajanlar kullanılmıştır. Lityum bu amaçla kullanılabilen ve etkinliği gösterilmiş bir ajandır. Biz bu olgu sunumunda uzun yıllardır KLS semptomları olan ve geç tanı alan, lityum tedavisinden fayda gören bir kadın hastayı sunduk.
