The Effects Of Intuitive Eating On The Body Composition And Some Biochemical Parameters

Öz

Purpose:This study was carried out to evaluate the effect of intuitive eating behavior on body composition and some biochemical parameters.
Patients and Methods:This research was carried out at Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan Medical Center between June 2018 and September 2018 with 172 clients. Anthropometric measurements of individuals, body mass index (BMI), waist hip ratio (CSO), fasting blood glucose, triglyceride, total cholesterol, LDL, HDL, ferritin, Vitamin D, TSH, some biochemical parameter values such as, intuitive eating Scale-2 (IES-2) scores, beck depression inventory scores were calculated.The data were assesed using the descriptive statistics, one way varianca and correlation analysis.
Results:The mean age of the participants was 38.56. The body mass index average of the participants was 28.74. Participants were 0.6% weak, 15.1% normal weight, 51.2% overweight, 24.4% obese, 8.1% moderate obese and 0.6% morbid obese. Significant positive correlations were found between the scores of the participants reliance on internal hunger and satiety cues, and intuitive eating total and eating for physical rather than emotional reasons and eating scores (r=0.82 ve r=0.43 p<0.01). When the relationship between intuitive eating total scores and depression scale scores was evaluated, a statistically significant negative relation was found (r=-0.15, p<0.05). There was no statistically significant correlation between the scores of the participants on the intuitive eating scale and the triglyceride, LDL-K, HDL-K, TSH, ferritin and vitamin D from the biochemical parameters (p> 0.05). Statistically significant negative relationships were found between the total cholestrol values of the participants and intuitive eating total, eating for physical rather than emotional reasons and eating, reliance on internal hunger and satiety cues (r=-0.17; r=-0.16 ve r=-0.15; p<0.05).
Conclusion:Intuitive eating intervention may be a more promising and realistic alternative to traditional weight loss treatments to prevent obesity.

Sezgisel Yeme Davranışının Vücut Kompozisyonu Ve Bazı Biyokimyasal Parametreler Üzerine Etkisi

Öz

Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı sezgisel yeme davranışının vücut kompozisyonu ve bazı biyokimyasal parametreler üzerine etkisini değerlendirmektir.
Hastalar ve Yöntem:Araştırma Prof. Dr. Türkan Saylan Tıp Merkezinde Haziran 2018-Eylül 2018 tarihleri arasında 172 danışan dahil edilerek yapılmıştır. Bireylerin antropometrik ölçümleri, vücut kütle indeksleri(BKİ), bel kalça oranı (BKO), açlık kan şekeri, trigliserid, total kolesterol, LDL, HDL, ferritin, Vitamin D, TSH gibi bazı biyokimyasal parametre değerleri, sezgisel yeme ölçeği-2 (IES-2) puanları, beck depresyon envanteri puanları değerlendirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde tanımlayıcı istatistikler, tek yönlü varyans ve korelasyon analizi kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular:Katılımcıların yaş ortalaması 38.56 yıldır. Katılımcıların beden kütle indeks ortalamaları 28.74kg/m2’dir. Katılımcıların %0.6 zayıf, %15.1 normal kilolu, %51.2 fazla kilolu, %24.4 hafif obez, %8.1 orta derecede obez ve %0.6 morbid obez şeklindedir. Katılımcıların açlık ve doygunluk ipuçlarına güvenme puanları ile sezgisel yeme toplam ve duygusal değil fiziksel sebeplerle yeme puanları arasında istatiksel olarak anlamlı pozitif ilişkiler bulunmuştur. (sırasıyla r=0.82 ve r=0.43 p<0.01). Sezgisel yeme toplam puanları ile depresyon ölçek puanları arasında istatiksel olarak anlamlı negatif bir ilişki bulunmuştur (r=-0.15, p<0.05). Katılımcıların sezgisel yeme ölçeğinden alınan puanlar ile biyokimyasal parametrelerden trigliserid, LDL-K, HDL-K, TSH, ferritin ve D vitamini arasındaki ilişkilerin istatiksel olarak anlamlı olmadığı görülmüştür (p>0.05). Katılımcıların total kolesterol değerleri ile sezgisel yeme toplam, duygusal değil fiziksel sebeplerle yeme, açlık ve doygunluk ipuçlarına güvenme puanları arasında istatiksel olarak anlamlı negatif ilişkiler bulunmuştur (sırasıyla r=-0.17; r=-0.16 ve r=-0.15; p<0.05).
Sonuç:Sezgisel yeme müdahalesi, obeziteyi önlemeye çalışan geleneksel ağırlık kaybı tedavilerinden daha umut verici ve gerçekçi bir alternatif olabilir.
