Evaluation of Temporomandibular Joint Disorders and Oral Habits In Dentistry Faculty Students

Öz

Purpose: The aim of this study was to evaluate temporomandibular disorders TMD in dentistry students and to evaluate the relationship between TMD and oral habits.Patients and Methods: The prevalence and severity of TMD were evaluated in a total of 172 students from the Ordu University Faculty of Dentistry, 119 females and 53 males, using the Fonseca’s questionnaire. In addition, the same students completed the Oral Behavior Checklist OBC questionnaire to assess the association of TMD with oral habits.Results: According to the results of the Fonseca questionnaire, the prevalence of temporomandibular disorders TMD at any level was found to be 79.65% of the students who participated in the questionnaire. {According to the results of the Fonseca questionnaire, 79.65% of the participants experienced temporomandibular disroders TMD at any level}. Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Öğrencilerinde Temporomandibular Eklem Rahatsızlıklarının ve Ağız Sağlığı Alışkanlıklarının Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı Diş hekimliği fakültesi öğrencilerinde Temporomandibular eklem TME problemlerinin değerlendirilmesi ve bu problemlerin ağız alışkanlıkları ile olan ilişkisini tespit etmektir.Hastalar ve Yöntem: Ordu Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi’nde eğitim gören 119 kız 53 erkek toplam 172 öğrencide TME problemleri prevalansı ve şiddeti Fonseca anketi kullanılarak değerlendirilmiştir. Bunun yanında TME problemlerinin ağız alışkanlıkları ile olan ilişkisini değerlendirmek amacıyla Oral Behaviour Checklist OBC anketi aynı bireylere uygulanmıştır.Bulgular: Çalışmanın sonucunda ankete katılan tüm öğrencilerde Fonseca anket sonuçlarına göre herhangi bir düzeyde Temporomandibular eklem disfonksiyonu TMD prevalansının %79,65 olduğu görülmüştür. Kız öğrencilerde TMD prevalansının erkek öğrencilere göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı derecede daha fazla olduğu saptanmıştır p
