A Rare Giant Tumor At The Base of Tongue: Amyloidoma

Abstract

Amyloidoma is a characteristic tumoral formation developed by accumulation of amyloid locally in tissues. It is a benign disease that is seen rarely in the head and neck region. A sixty-year old patient was admitted to our clinic with the complaints of hoarseness and difficulty swallowing that had existed for 5-6 months. A mass with the size of 6x4 cm was found in the tongue base and was totally excised. The excised mass was reported as an amyloidoma tumor. We have presented and discussed a rarely seen amyloidoma case with the review of literature
