Ecchymosis Area With Respiratory Distress

Abstract

We present a case involving a 82-year-old woman who was admitted to the emergency room due to dyspnea and confusion. The ecchymosis area was observed in the patient’s left midaxillary line. An axial CT section revealed a giant hematoma extending along the left thoracic anterolateral wall.We aimed to discuss the differential diagnoses of this condition and emphasize the importance of the clinical evaluation and physical examination. An accurate diagnosis can be made on the basis of clinical evaluation and concordant radiological findings
