Central Venous Catheter Malposition In Intensive Care: Presentation of Two Cases

Abstract

Central venous catheterization is an interventional technique which is frequently used in intensive care unit for diagnosis and treatment. Central venous cannulation may lead to complications that arterial punction. vasculer erosion, thrombozis, malposition and infection. In this article we aimed to evaluate catheter malposition in central catheter placed two patients. We placed central catheters with different indications to two patients who were 19 and 72 years old. We did not experienced any complications while inserting catheters. After the procedure we have seen like the catheters was misplaced on the control PA graphies. We aimed to emphasize radiologic screaning after catheterization in detecting catheter malposition. However ultrasound quided central venous catheterization can prevent this kind of malpositions and decrease complication ratios
