Abstract
Social gender inequality affects the education of women, their participation in the workplace, their income, and thus creates social pressure, all of which cause various problems, mainly in women’s health. The major area where women are faced with social gender inequality in women’s health, is reproduction health services. Throughout their lives, from intrauterine to childhood, adolescence, maturity and old age, women are exposed to more risk factors than men. Some of the most significant indicators of negative experiences of women are: not wishing a daughter throughout their pregnancy, which indicates prenatal gender inequality, pregnancy termination if a daughter is expected, genital mutilation, mostly seen in African and Arab cultures, virginity control, adolescent marriages and resulting adolescent pregnancies, complications with pregnancy and delivery, traditions, customs and social pressure imposed by paternalistic societies, the violence women are subject to in almost every period of their life, femicide that is currently prevalent, menopause, one of the periods during which women are neglected mostly post-menopause disorders, and the lower status of women. In this context, the aim of this study is to analyze the effect of social gender inequality that changes over time and from one society to another, on women’s health and their reproductive health, in accordance with their life cycle
