THE EFFECT OF INTERNAL MEDICINE NURSING COURSE ON STUDENTS TENDENCY OF CRITICAL THINKING

Abstract

Purpose: This study was done in order to assess the impact of internal medicine nursing course on nursing students’ critical thinking te ndency. Patients and Methods: Out of 55 first year internal medicine students, 45 formed the sample group who aggreed to join the research after taking the necessary information about it. The data is collected by using data form including sociodemographic information and the informati on collected by the California Critical Thinking Disposition Inventory. Forms are applied on the first and last day of internal medicine nursing course. In the analysis of the data analysis of variance, Student’s t test and Pearson’s correlation analysis was used. Result: While the critical thinking trend grade of internal medicine students’ was low 199.8±14.7 in the beginning of the semester, it has increased significantly 226.3±22.7 in the end of semester p
