Ultrasound-guided Injection of Botulinum Toxina In The Treatment of Sialorrhoea In Patient With Atypical Parkinson's Disease: Case Report

Abstract

Sialorrhoea is a common symptom of Parkinson’s disease. Anticholinergic drugs used in the medical treatment of sialorrhoea is only partially effective and can cause intolerable side effects. Recently, it has been underlined that percutaneous injection of botulinum toxin is a effective method in the treatment of sialorrhoea in patients with Parkinson’s disease in this report, the percutaneous treatment of sialorrhoea, which is unresponsive to medical therapy, by ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injection for 66 years old man with atypical Parkinson’s disease, were discussed in the light of the related literatüre
