Ultrasound-guided Injection of Botulinum Toxina In The Treatment of Sialorrhoea In Patient With Atypical Parkinson's Disease: Case Report

Year 2015, Issue: 3, 171 - 173, 01.09.2015

Abstract

Sialorrhoea is a common symptom of Parkinson’s disease. Anticholinergic drugs used in the medical treatment of sialorrhoea is only partially effective and can cause intolerable side effects. Recently, it has been underlined that percutaneous injection of botulinum toxin is a effective method in the treatment of sialorrhoea in patients with Parkinson’s disease in this report, the percutaneous treatment of sialorrhoea, which is unresponsive to medical therapy, by ultrasound-guided botulinum toxin injection for 66 years old man with atypical Parkinson’s disease, were discussed in the light of the related literatüre

Atipik Parkinson Hastasının Siyalore Şikayetinin Ultrasonografi Eşliğinde Perkütan Botulinum Toksin Enjeksiyonu ile Tedavisi: Olgu Sunumu

Year 2015, Issue: 3, 171 - 173, 01.09.2015

Abstract

Siyalore, Parkinson hastalığında sık görülen bir semptomdur. Siyalorenin medikal tedavisinde kullanılan antikolinerjik ilaçlar kısmi bir fayda gösterir ve hastanın tolere edemeyeceği yan etkilere sebep olabilirler. Son zamanlarda Parkinson hastalığında görülen siyalore tedavisinde perkutan botulinum toksin enjeksiyonunun etkin bir tedavi yöntemi olduğu vurgulanmaktadır. Bu yazıda, 66 yaşında atipik Parkinson tanısı olan hastada medikal tedaviye yanıt vermeyen siyalorenin ultrasonografi kılavuzluğunda botulinum toksini ile perkütan tedavisi literatür bilgileri eşliğinde tartışıldı
